After attending the first PDE meeting of the school year, my mind quickly changed. The members of PDE welcomed me with open arms, I suddenly had a safe space away from the rigorous courses I was taking and small dorm space I could barely move in, let alone dance in! Tuesday classes became a sort of therapy for me and my involvement in the Fall show allowed me to get to know fellow dancers. I continued to be more and more involved with PDE, eventually becoming an Executive Board member and choreographing a piece for one of the shows! Looking back at my last three years at Pitt, I couldn’t imagine my college experience without Pitt Dance Ensemble. I’ve made lifelong friends, loads of memories, all while still continuing to do something I love.
